Annyeonghaseyo!
Im back! And with a vengeance! How
are you guys? It’s been a while (two years!) since Ive posted anything on this
blog. But anyways, Im back.
So last June 2015, my friend and
I went to Seoul, South Korea to see a bit of the Land of the Morning Calm (my
inner fangirl was soooo not calm. Like…At. All.). And yeeeeppp! It was
beautiful. It was summer when we visited and boy, it was raining so hard so if
you do want to explore Seoul without having to worry about rains, schedule your
trip NOT in summer (May to July) because it’s going to rain. A. LOT. Also, rain is a normal thing in the Philippines so
guys, try to experience seasons you haven’t experienced before – like, the
fall, winter and spring seasons.
So we went there and WE. HAD. A.
BLAST. And to be very honest, it’s so much cheaper to be going around Seoul
than it is going around in Singapore. Public transportation is so superb (a
very far cry….like super far cry from Metro Manila and Cebu’s). okay, just
before getting the hang of it really coz we don’t really know anything about
the system and communication is a problem. So yes, after lots of hand signals
and pointing, a kindly old South Korean woman from San Francisco who was in
Seoul helped us. She even told us the best place to exchange our US dollars (It’s
in Itaewon coz there are a lot of foreigners there.)
Anyways, we went to a lot of
famous tourists sites, ate Korean food (I love the food but they could use a
bit more salt. It must be the fermented vegetables coz I’ve heard that they put
a lot of salt in them before curing.). I especially liked the Korean
samgyupsal, especially the sauce. I don’t know what kind it is, but its spicy
and sweet – definitely my alley. We ate, drank, explored the city and its
neighboring areas (Hello Nami Island!), shopped so much (will do a separate posts on this one).
