Product Review: Skinmiso Rice Foam Cleansing

Hello everyone. I'm back! and with me is my review of Skinmiso's Rice Foam Cleansing.

(I'm weirded out with the name. Do I add "cleanser at the end or what?).

Let's get this baby started!

So, I bought this product for USD$12.99 from Wishtrend.com (Wishtrend.com is an online shop selling korean skincare and make up products. You might wanna check it out and while you're doing that, do please check out my blog post about my buying experience with Wishtrend.com here.).

Roughly, that’s around Php 584.55.  I bought this product because I think I’ve seen a Youtube video about top ten skincare products that are just the best and I thought this skin cleanser was included in that list (I forgot the title of that video and the youtube channel). Anyways, as I have pointed out in my other blog entry, I have to wait for more or less a month to get my hands on this stuff and try it (coz Philippine Postal system just sucks…seriously.)

Skinmiso as a brand, is not really well known in the Philippines yet ---> Like, Etude-House-popularity level or The Face Shop yet. They haven’t reached yet that level and frankly speaking, I was not familiar with Skinmiso until I checked out Wishtrend.com (Please check out my other blog entry for my very first time online shopping experience.)

I think they don’t actively promote like Etude House or Innisfree – uhm, like, the company doesn’t really use kpop stars for ad campaigns, right ( I hope I'm right on this one.)? I do hope that Skinmiso, as a brand name, gets well known since their products are really promising.

Anyways, Back to the discussion at hand.

Product Description (as described in the packaging):

My thoughts:

Packaging:

Damn. The packaging is expenssssssiveeee… yessir, it is. And it better be considering the price. It just looks simple and elegant and just…..clean. Really “clean-looking” like, all blue and white and a picture of rice stalks colored in white. The tube isn’t the usual kind of glossy type tube and I like it. This product has that “medical thing going on” aura.  I don’t know what this company’s aiming for but I certainly think that this product’s packaging is really clean-looking. And I somehow, like it. I’m weird right?

Upon using:

The product has this watery consistency, typical of the water used in soaking and cleaning the rice. It has white granules on it which I think helps in exfoliation.

(Please excuse my very dry hands. I have not yet moisturize. ^^)

It has a smell that reminds you of flowers. The smell does not over power though, it’s just enough for me (I have a really sensitive nose so any type of smell that’s just too much, my nose just reacts to it with bouts of sneezing.) You just need a pea-size since it foams a lot.

(I have yet to rub it to make it foamy. ^^)

The only downside is that after a while of using, it just gets a little bit messy since it is really watery. You can’t really control how much product you want when you squeeze the tube because of its watery consistency. It would have been better if the container was a pump.

Performance:

After washing, it leaves my face really squeaky clean. I can say that the oil and dirt are removed. Plus, it really controls sebum production as I have noticed that after wash, even if the air is just so humid (It still is summer here in the Philippines and it’s really HOT), my face is still oil free. Definitely one of the few cleansers that actually deliver.

My brother (a teenager and has stress-related zits here and there) who have been using it (coz we’re sharing coz you know…sharing is giving..hehehe..) said that if he uses this product with Etude House’s AC Clinic White-Trouble Bubble Cleanser, his pimples just dry up overnight.

And so THE VERDICT:

On a scale of 10 with 10 being the highest, I’d rate this 8 out 10. It could have been higher but then using the product is kind of messy for me.
